The reason the book of Hebrews was written is because the Jewish Christians were undergoing great persecution for believing in Jesus as Messiah and turning their backs on the Old Covenant. You can learn many things from Hebrews. For instance, Jesus is the High Priest now, He's a better high priest from the order of Melchizedek, not Aaron. Reading Hebrews in light of this information will open your understanding.
